Buddha means “Awakened one” or “Enlightened one. Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, in Sanskrit, or Siddhattha Gotama, in Pali, was a spiritual teacher from ancient India and the founder of Buddhism. It is fun and cool decoration piece. The four laughing faces are quite expressive. The fact that it is made in brass and not in usual chinaware that most of laughing Buddhas are made of, gives it a more classical look. -- laughing buddha

This bizzare and surreal-looking artifact has four different faces on four corners, each having a distinct expression, one sad, one angry, one happy, and one laughing. It is especially amusing to spin it around, because it gives the illusion of an animated face of a man whose expressions change rapidly from happy, sad, and angry, all in the same moment. The plump faces have been carved to great detail, with the many lines on the faces higlighting their expressions in a cartoon-ish manner. -- Bizzare and surreal-looking artifact
